It’s Not Just About the Product...  Why We Always Take the Rubbish Away

At Barlow Blinds, we’re always looking for ways to improve what we do not just in how we make blinds, but in how we treat people.

So when I have work done at home, I pay close attention. What feels good? What doesn’t? What would we want our customers to experience?

Recently, we had a new lounge carpet fitted. Small, local, family-run business. The salesperson was brilliant and offered great advice, no pressure, and helped us pick the perfect carpet for our home.

We paid a deposit, and everything was going smoothly.

Then came the final payment request,  due the day before installation. We weren’t thrilled about that, but we do understand. In our own business, around 4% of customers delay payment after their blinds are fitted, and chasing those accounts can be time-consuming. So while we don’t follow that model ourselves, we can see why some companies do.

The carpet looked great. But one thing stuck.

The fitting was neat. On time. No issues.
But when the fitters left, they left all the rubbish behind offcuts, packaging, cardboard tubes.

Not a huge deal… but it really took the shine off what could have been a seamless experience.

And it reminded us exactly why, at Barlow Blinds, we never leave the mess behind.
When we install your blinds:

  • We remove your old blinds if you’d like us to
  • We tidy up after ourselves not just out of habit, but out of respect

It’s a small thing. But small things matter.

When someone’s just finished working in your home, you shouldn’t be left with bags of rubbish or a trip to the tip..
You should be left with peace of mind and a space that feels calm, clean, and complete.

Yes. Our installers always remove all packaging, offcuts, and waste as part of our service. We believe a clean finish is part of a great experience.

Will you take away my old blinds?

Yes, we’re happy to remove and responsibly dispose of your old blinds during installation and any metal parts of your old blinds gets recycled.
