Intu vs Perfect Fit: Which Blinds Are Right for Your Windows?

If you've been looking at neat, no-drill blind options for your windows or doors, you've probably come across Intu and Perfect Fit blinds. On the surface, they might seem almost identical but there are key differences that could make one a better fit for your space.

We’ve fitted thousands of both across Leicester and beyond. Here’s our honest take to help you choose the right one.

First Things First. What Do They Have in Common?

Both Intu and Perfect Fit blinds are clip-fit systems that attach directly to the window frame without any drilling or screws. This makes them ideal for:

  • Tilt-and-turn windows
  • Conservatories
  • Glazed doors (especially French or patio doors)
  • Rental properties where you can’t or don’t want to drill into the frame

They move with the window or door when opened or tilted, offering better control and a sleeker, built-in look. But there are important differences in how they work and what styles are available.

The Key Differences

Feature

Perfect Fit Blinds

Intu Blinds

Frame

Come in a full frame that sits flush against the glass

No surrounding frame just a slim headrail and thin side channels.

Appearance

More structured and bold due to full frame

Slimmer and sleeker, especially for small windows

Light Gaps

Excellent coverage, ideal for light control

Slightly more light gaps, not as good for blackout

Blind Types

Available in Pleated, Cellular and Venetian

Available in Pleated, Cellular and Venetian

Ease of Cleaning

Easier to remove for cleaning

Slightly more fiddly to unclip and reinstall

So, Which One Should You Choose?

Here’s how we help our customers decide:

Choose Perfect Fit if:

  • You want maximum light control or privacy (e.g., for bedrooms or street-facing windows)
  • You like a more solid, structured look
  • A wider range of frame colours to suit most window colours.

Choose Intu if:

  • You want the slimmest, most discreet system especially good on smaller windows
  • You prefer a more seamless, integrated look with minimal framing
  • You don’t need blackout-level darkness

What We’ve Learned from Fitting Thousands of These Blinds

Handles…. Depending on the style of your window handles (no issue on doors) Perfect Fit blinds may need a plastic handle cut out built into the frame which is not the prettiest. Intu blinds have no issues with any handles.

Children…. Both styles are child safe with no loose cords or chains. In my opinion Perfect Fit is the better option if you have young children (or pets) as the tension cord is hidden inside the frame whereas Intu blinds have exposed cords.

Bifold Doors…. Perfect Fit blinds are not suitable for 90% of Bifold doors. The first thing we do when asked about blinds on bifolds is fully open the door. If the frames touch each other when folded back then there is no room for the perfect fit frames. Intus on the other hand do a Micro version designed specifically for Bifolds. Only available as pleated or cellular with a fairly limited colour range.

Venetian option…. For me there is only 1, the Intu venetian blind for me looks so much better. Its all about how you tilt the slats. Perfect venetian blinds have short plastic wands (as you get on a traditional venetian blind), the Intu venetian has a neat little slider built into the rail so no hanging little wands.

Bedrooms…. Neither blinds would be described as Blackout even with blackout fabrics. The Perfect fit Cellular blinds would be my recommendation as the four sided frame blocks out much more light than the Intu.

A note of caution the blinds move with your window as you open and close them, so if you sleep with your windows open you lose any chance of room darkening with either blinds style.

FAQs: Intu vs Perfect Fit Blinds

Q: Are Intu and Perfect Fit blinds suitable for all types of windows?
Not quite. They’re best for uPVC windows and doors with a visible rubber seal (gasket) between the glass and frame. If your window has a wooden frame or isn’t beaded in the right way, these systems might not be suitable.

Q: Do either of them offer full blackout?
Perfect Fit blinds can come closer to blackout when combined with a blackout cellular fabric, thanks to the full frame reducing light gaps. Intu blinds don’t have a frame, so you may see more light around the edges.

Q: Can I use Perfect Fit or Intu blinds on patio or French doors?
Yes, both are ideal for glazed doors because the blind fits to the glass and moves with the door.

Q: Do Intu or Perfect Fit blinds damage the window frames?
No. Both systems are drill-free and fully removable, which makes them great for rented properties or newly installed windows. The clips simply fit into the window beading or between the glass and seal—no screw holes, no fuss.

Q: How do I know which system is right for me?
If you are still not sure which system is right for you then I would recommend contacting a local blind company. Before you call them out make sure they offer both styles as some companies only offer their preferred one and the conversation might be a little biased. (We make the Perfect fit blinds in our factory but would have no hesitation in recommending Intus if I felt that met your needs better)
