What blinds are best for bi fold doors

The past few years have seen a move from the more traditional sliding patio doors to French Doors and more recently bi-fold doors. intu-roller-faces-crop

Bi fold doors look fantastic but are not suitable for the more traditional style of window blinds, so as trends change so do our products.

There are 2 ideal products for this type of installation, both fit into the beading of the doors, so they move with the doors as you open and close them.

Due to the way they fit and the slim nature of the blinds they will allow the doors to open fully without hitting the wall or the other panels in the case of the Bi Fold doors.

Perfect Fit Blinds and Intu Blinds are the 2 different options of these blinds.

Our preferred choice is the Intu, in our opinion it looks neater as it doesn’t have the obtrusive framework around the blind like the perfect fit option, and the blinds actually look part of the door rather than a bolt on extra.

They are available in several blind types, Roller (not suitable for bi-fold), venetian blinds, pleated blinds and cellular blinds.

Another option if you don’t fancy your blinds fitted to the doors themselves are cellular Blinds.

Available in 3 fabric types, translucent, opaque and blackout, so are a great option for light control.

The big advantage of cellular for bi fold doors is that you can operate them without any cords, by using their smart rise hand operated system or the motorised remote controlled system.

Either way you can have several blinds fitted side by side with no unsightly control cords / chains hanging down.
